Following on from the successful ECERS International Conference in Arlington USA in April this year, we are delighted to announce that the next meeting will be held in Portugal in 2024.

We are indebted to our colleagues, Isabel Macedo Pinto and Teresa Leal at the University of Porto, for hosting the conference in one of Portugal’s most beautiful and historic cities. Porto is known for its stately bridges and port wine production. It won ‘Europe’s Leading City Destination’ award from the ‘World Travel Group’ in 2022.

With cheap flights, accommodation in all price ranges and great weather it is the perfect place to hold our May 2024 meeting.

The conference will be an opportunity for colleagues from around the world who work, study or just have an interest in early years education and care, be it policy, practice or research, to keep in touch with developments in our field. We hope you will be able to join us in Porto 6th – 8th May 2024.

For those who arrive early there will be an informal dinner on the evening of Sunday 5th May.

The afternoon of Wednesday 8th May will be for the cultural/social programme.
